Bluetooth LE module expands Mouser RF offering
The single-chip controller has an Arm Cortex-M0 core with a serial wire debug (SWD) interface and 128kbytes of flash memory. It has a serial power profile (SPP) in addition to standard Bluetooth LE profiles. Choices of operation are host mode and a standalone mode that eliminates the need for an external processor. An AT command mode is coming soon, says the distributor.
Bluetooth 5.0 enables a high symbol rate of 2Mbps via the high-speed 2M PHY. For a longer range, the LE-coded PHY operates at 500kbps or 125kbps.
There are 18 GPIOs over two I²C, SPI, and UART interfaces. The module also includes four PWM outputs and five ADCs.
The compact module is house in a package measuring 15.6 × 8.7 × 1.9mm. Its size and low current consumption make it suitable for battery-powered applications, points out Mouser. The module is also pinout compatible with the company’s earlier Bluetooth modules (PAN1760A and PAN1026A) for developers to migrate software and preserve investment.
Mouser also offer the PAN1762 Evaluation Kit, which has two USB dongles for developing, running, and debugging code together with breakout headers to connect sensors and devices for prototyping.
